Saturday, february 25 - rest / transfer day
You have the choice today of either resting up and enjoying the town and beaches of Jacmel or of being shuttled up the mountains to the village of Seguin which is home to the Seguin Plateau and the Park National La Visite in the Pic La Selle mountain range.
The transfer to Seguin may be long and rough but absolutely worth it. The views from up there can be spectacular and the fresh air and quiet peace of one of the last remaining patches of forest cover in Haiti will reward you for your decision. Once there we can take several long or short walks, visit sites, projects and the Fondation Seguin tree nursery.
You will spend the next day hiking back across the mountain towards Port-au-Prince where we meet the rest of the group for the final night of week one. This approximately 4 hour hike offers splendid vistas while providing you with a deeper understanding of the effects of massive deforestation in Haiti.
Overnight location: Jacmel or Seguin
